Ask about extra timeHow does this place work?
The answers people tend to need in the moment, without turning this page into the whole handbook.
Our basic rule: leave spaces at least as good as you found them. Clean up as you go, reset meeting rooms and wash and dry anything you use in the kitchen.
Can I take calls in the coworking space?
Yes. The main space is social rather than silent. Keep your voice moderate and use headphones. For longer or louder calls, use a meeting room or the Edspace video booth.
I’m bringing a guest. What should I know?
Tea and coffee are included for members, while guests are asked to pay £1. If you need privacy for a meeting, book one of the meeting rooms. If you are unsure whether your guest needs anything else, message the Hub team.
Can I bring a dog?
Guide dogs are welcome. A quiet, well-behaved dog may occasionally be agreed on a one-off basis. Regular dog visits are normally only considered for fixed-desk members with agreement from the people sharing that area. Please ask us first.
Where does recycling go?
Recycling is under the tea station, with separate paper/card and mixed recycling. Please take glass home. Large boxes and bulky packaging should also go home with you for recycling.
How does heating work?
Portable heaters are available. Keep them connected to their Tapo smart plugs and switch them off after use. White 3kW fan heaters must not be used with extension leads. If anything looks wrong, tell the Hub team.
What if I’m the last person out?
After regular hours, check nobody else is still in the building. Switch off lights, portable heaters, fans and anything you used, close the windows, take the downstairs door off the latch and make sure the Hub is locked behind you.
Can I use the Hub as my business address?
35-hour, 70-hour, Unlimited and Fixed Desk members can ask to register their business address here, subject to our checks. Please speak to us before registering it. We sort post into named pigeonholes and can sign for parcels.
What happens on bank holidays and over Christmas?
The Hub is normally unstaffed and locked on bank holidays. Fixed-desk members keep their usual 24/7 access. Other members who need access during a closure should ask well in advance so we can see whether a key loan is possible.
Emergency: if someone’s life may be at risk, call 999. If the fire alarm sounds, evacuate straight away.
Fire assembly point: rear car park.
Need something different?
Your work changes, so your membership can too. Request a switch, top up hours or ask us about billing.
Switching plan? Please send your request ideally at least 5 working days before your next Direct Debit renewal. This gives us time to make the change before the next payment is taken.
Request a membership switch
Keep this short. We only need enough information to make the right change.
