A new project: Youth Action. Chris Redmond explains.

The Frome Youth Climate Action Group is a new initiative supporting a team of 12–18-year-olds in Frome to lead climate action in their own way.

The below is from Chris Redmond, our Youth Action coordinator:

“Our first meeting in June went really well. We had eight people attending, aged from 11 to 14. We made and decorated paper planes, we talked, played games and did amazing brainstorming around things we’d like to do in and around Frome to help the environment and raise awareness around climate change…

Some ideas included:

  • Clean Ups
  • Planting/rewilding/seed bombing
  • Conservation
  • Public Art
  • Workshops
  • Citizen Science
  • Protests

The group is a new initiative supporting a team of 11–18-year-olds in Frome to lead climate action in their own way. This core group will design and deliver activities, campaigns, or events that engage other young people — building a movement of youth-led climate energy across the town.

This project is part of Edventure’s Future Shed, supported by Green & Healthy Frome. It builds on partnerships with Earth House at Frome College.
