One in a series of workshops to help you work well, firstly through improving your fundraising skills.

If you need to write bids and apply to trusts and foundations for funding and you would like some hints and tips on how to be more effective, this short course is for you.

Ruth Knagg, a fundraiser with 25 years experience, will use real examples from Frome charities and community initiatives of various different scales, to equip you with checklists and useful practical techniques to enable you to make better use of your time – and hopefully to achieve better results.

There will be an opportunity to learn what grant funders are really looking for and hands-on exercises so you are not talked at the whole time! It is also a great way to meet other people in exactly the same position as you are and to find out that we are actually much more supportive than competitive in this game.

Sign up and learn Edventure style:

  • by doing, from each other, and from experts
  • by accessing 121 mentoring after the workshops on topics important to you
  • as part of Somerset’s vibrant and forward-thinking community

About the workshop lead, Ruth Knagg:

She sits on the Board of the Andrews Charitable Trust and in the past has assessed funding bids to Frome Town Council. Ruth was also on the bid-writing team for the successful National Lottery funded Green & Healthy Future Frome programme. Ruth was formely the Fundraising Manager for local charity, We Hear You.

The workshop will take place at Frome Town Hall.

3) How much does the course cost?

For most Somerset Residents the course will either be free or subsidised. A free ticket includes a £5 booking fee to encourage attendance and avoid no-shows. A subsidised ticket costs £17 per workshop.
