Future Shed – Retrofit
Retrofitting is the process of making changes to an existing building to make it more energy efficient, more comfortable, cheaper to heat and healthier to live in.
Retrofitting can help you tackle problems like a hard to heat home, damp, condensation, and mold. It could help reduce your energy bills, improve your health and it could also help reduce your carbon emissions.
This Future Shed is about building a retrofitting hub in Frome for the town and surrounding villages, to help homeowners exchange knowledge and information. We want to connect with both homeowners and building professionals to support and stimulate local retrofitting of our homes.
– Are you planning your own retrofit project or hoping to do so in the future?
– Are you a building professional ready to share your knowledge or find out what the local retrofitting demand is?
- You may be a homeowner, or you may be a landlord with private rental properties.
- You may live in a whole house or in a flat.
- You might be suffering for health conditions which could be caused or effected by living in a cold damp home.
- Are you wondering if you can save money on your energy bills or reduce your carbon footprint by installing renewable energy technology?
- Perhaps you’ve just moved into a new home and have alterations planned?
We will focus on what a retrofitting hub could look like and what it could do for Frome.
Please come and help shape a retrofit future for Frome!
This meeting will be led by Frome’s new Community Retrofit Lead Sally Richards, who works at Frome Town Council as part of the Healthy Homes team, with support from Sue Palmer, the Future Shed Lead at Edventure Frome.
