A get-together of making and mending! Bring along your broken items and our volunteer fixers will help you get them back in good shape if they can.
Come along and save stuff from landfill, save money & maybe even learn (or share) a skill. There will be cake!
We’ll have people on hand to help with:
Textiles & Clothing: torn jeans, moth-holed jumpers and more. Learn how to darn, visible mend, patch and hem.
IT: laptop repairs and MOTs. cloud storage advice and security checks.
Bikes & Buggies: maintenance checks, minor repairs, learn how to fix punctures.
Electrical Items: toasters, kettles, lamps, clocks etc…household items that would otherwise end up in landfill.
Toys: this is a family event, bring along your children and their broken things, maybe they’ll even learn a new skill.
Small furniture, crockery other stuff: you bring it, we’ll see what we can do!
- Upcycling demos and workshops –
- Paper Plant pot making + plant seeds, with Emily
- Make a draught excluder using scrap fabrics, with Aliss : read more here >>
It’s free (donations are welcome) but please book a ticket, so we have an idea of numbers and can organise our fixers effectively
So far, we have inspected over 200 items, weighing nearly 400kg and saving over £9000 if these broken items had to be replaced new
FREE DRAFT EXCLUDER WORKSHOP:
Keep those draughts at bay with this useful accessory in your home. Make it patchwork – upcycle your scraps of fabric, pre-loved curtains or denim jeans.
You’ll need: approx 0.5m fabric – bring scraps that you have / some fabric will be available on a first-come basis. Stuffing – bring / use scraps of fabric, odd socks or tights cut up
Our fabulous team of volunteers give generously of their time and their skills. If you can give a couple of hours of your time too, we’d be happy to join our team of menders, please get in touch with Aliss on
We’d like to keep our event free, relying on donations to help it continue. If you’re able to offer help in any way at all, please get in touch!
