1 of a series of w/shops supporting the move to #buildbackbetter. Local experts sharing real experience to support a green & fair recovery.

Funding has a key role to play in the drive to #buildbackbetter from the pandemic, in resourcing the new economy and in supporting us to deepen resilience in our local economy.

If you need to write bids and apply to trusts and foundations for funding and you would like some hints and tips on how to be more effective, this short course is for you.

Ruth Knagg, a fundraiser with 25 years experience, will use real examples from Frome charities and community initiatives of various different scales, to equip you with checklists and useful practical techniques to enable you to make better use of your time – and hopefully to achieve better results.

There will be an opportunity to learn what grant funders are really looking for and hands-on exercises so you are not talked at the whole time! It is also a great way to meet other people in exactly the same position as you are and to find out that we are actually much more supportive than competitive in this game.

Facilitator:

Ruth Knagg. Fundraising Manager (Grants & Philanthropy). We Hear You (WHY)

Ruth has worked on both sides of the fence, both fundraising and funding. She was responsible for fundraising for Whatcombe Fields and for Action on Disability and Development. She sits on the Board of the Andrews Charitable Trust and in the past has assessed funding bids to Frome Town Council.

Covid-19 Safety Policies and Procedures:

We are taking safety very seriously. As the situation evolves, so will our approach. At the current time…

Venue: We will be at Frome Town Hall with support from Frome Town Council. Risk assessments will be performed and strictly adhered to. As the situation evolves, we may need to switch venue/move online.

Participant Responsibilities: We all have a critical role to play in keeping each other safe. We will email you an update before the course outlining what precautions we all need to take. For the time-being please be prepared to:

  • bring your own face-covering and wear it throughout.
  • use hand sanitiser each time you enter/exit the meeting room.
  • keep 1+ metre physically distant from others at all times.
  • stay home on the day if you have any symptoms (fever, tiredness, a new or continuous cough, loss of smell/taste).
  • self-certify on arrival that you do not have symptoms, have not been diagnosed with or had direct contact with a known or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days.

Cancellations: The booking fee is non-refundable. If you need to cancel and let us know at least 3 days prior to the event we will be happy to transfer your booking to another of our short courses.
