Fromebase completes phase 1!

Fromebase has completed phase 1!

Thanks to the hard work of our Incubation course team, Fromebase has successfully completed its first pilot run. The Incubation course has now wrapped up, and Fromebase will continue to grow within Edventure. Thank you, team, and well done.

Fromebase is our project to create a new kind of DIY shop for surplus and repurposed materials. Inside, you’ll find everything you’d expect from a regular DIY store. Our ambition is to source materials and tools from construction companies, giving new life to items that would otherwise go to waste. By repurposing these, we can offer lower prices and keep valuable resources out of landfills. We then use the money we make to support classes, workshops, and other community projects in Frome.

Since February, our incubation team has been working together to bring this project to life. Through a creative and hands-on design process, the team learned how to start a social enterprise, engage with the community, and test their ideas. They iterated and refined Fromebase based on what they learned, creating its brand, website, and overall look. They also successfully launched its pilot run at the Edventure Hub.

I’m excited to see what’s next for Fromebase, and I hope you are too!
