Funded by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund, Green and Healthy Frome is a unique partnership of Edventure Frome, Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council, who have come together to develop a variety of projects aimed at promoting greener and healthier living in Frome.
Through free practical support, events and local collaborations, we aim to help our community make sustainable choices at home, lower their bills, ease pressure on the NHS and empower grassroots green and healthy projects to thrive.
Our vision is simple: to collaborate with our community in as many ways as possible, share our experiences and insights, and encourage individuals to take meaningful actions towards a healthier, greener, and fairer future.
Our Green and Healthy Frome project has it’s own wonderful website, with all the ways you can get involved. Click below to go there.
How our partnership works

Edventure Frome CIC
Edventure Frome CIC is the coordinating partnership for the Green & Healthy Frome programme. Through Future Shed, Edventure Frome CIC supports the launch and growth of green and healthy projects and enterprises by building networks, connecting like-minded individuals, building community and offering free events, training, coaching and resources to turn ideas into action.
Frome Medical Practice runs both the Choosing Wisely initiative and the Green Connectors program and jointly runs the Plastic Free. Period. Project with Frome Town Council. Choosing Wisely is an approach focused on delivering the best possible care while selecting more sustainable medications and reducing waste related to medicines. It also supports patients in making healthy lifestyle choices to enhance their mental and physical well-being and prevent illness.
The Green Connectors project offers engaging and inspiring workshops that explore the connection between health and climate. Its goal is to help local individuals and organisations access green health opportunities throughout Frome. We understand that what benefits our health also benefits the planet, often resulting in cost savings for the NHS.
Frome Town Council leads several initiatives, including Healthy Homes and Cycle Together, and jointly runs the Plastic Free. Period. project with Frome Medical Practice.
The Healthy Homes program supports individuals at risk of living in cold homes by providing advice and assistance for installing energy-efficient measures. This includes access to grant schemes and low-interest loans, as well as support for residents on their retrofitting journey or help with installing solar panels. While Cycle Together offers a variety of services to encourage cycling for fitness and leisure and as a cost-effective way to lower carbon footprints. These services include free e-bike loans, bike maintenance classes, “Book a Buddy” sessions, and group rides. The Plastic Free. Period. project provides support, discounts, and information on switching to plastic-free period products, which are healthier for our bodies and better for the planet.
