Many young people in the Frome community used and loved the Routes Café which was based at the YMCA but has sadly had to close. Routes Café was such an inspirational and supportive place for so many that Routes Frome has been started in the hope that people will come and use the service in a similar way. Routes Sessions are currently a 3hr event run every Thursday between 14:00-17:00. The sessions are open to everyone aged 18-35 to come for support if they have an everyday problem that needs solving
Routes Sessions are currently online for Lockdown 3.0. Please feel free to get in touch:
We can offer you support by phone, on Zoom or in person.
People who visit can get help with completing a CV, benefit claim, job application, rental contract or other paperwork. They can use our phone or laptops to make an important call or connect with people, services and organisations online. Time and help can be given to research any questions that need answering or find locals services that can support them and their family.
So pop in for a cuppa and a chat and we can work together to find solutions to any issues you’re experiencing.
With Covid things aren't ideal but they won't always be this way
Whilst Routes sessions are just beginning they are for 3hrs once a week. But future plans are to have longer drop in sessions where people are free to come by anytime. We also plan to have people come in and talk about specific topics that they know about from their own life experiences. These will be easy going sessions delivered by every day people. They will be designed to give young people the chance to ask questions and talk openly about the everyday stuff that life throws at us.
Who knows! When the weather is good again, we may even meet for walk and talk sessions or have a dig in one of Fromes community green spaces.
