What is FROMEBASE?

Read on for a message from Edventure’s DIY Incubation Team 

FROMEBASE: Frome’s new surplus and re-purposed DIY shop is launching soon, and we’re now open for your too good to waste material dropoffs

We are a new kind of DIY shop, aiming to supply everything you would expect from a typical high street brand. 

We will collate unused and surplus DIY materials passed on from construction companies and people like you! 

Repurposing excess materials and tools means we can offer cheaper prices, keep valuable resources out of landfill, whilst using profits to support classes, workshops, and other community projects in Frome.

Do you have wood, paint, tools or other materials that are too good to waste? 

We can help you find a new home for all those leftover materials taking up space in your shed, garage, or cupboard.  

Donating your surplus materials gives them a second life in someone else’s project, whilst eliminating that skip guilt! 

So, to kick off this exciting new venture we are starting with a pilot here at our home at Edventure HQ, where we will be opening the doors to our first DIY shop from June 6th.

📆 14th May – to 5th June every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

🕒 9:30am – 3:00pm

Please read — important information!

As we are aiming to stock high-quality, useful items for home and garden projects, please only donate items that are clean, safe, and still usable.

For example:

• Wood – full wooden planks, sheets, or batons (no small scraps or nails attached)
• Paint – any kind, at least half a tin, usable with a lid that is fully closed
• Hand tools – for home or garden, good condition
• Power tools – working, ideally under 5 years old
• Fixings – nails, screws, bolts (in packs or multiples of 10+)
• Hardware – handles, knobs, brackets (sets of 2 or more)
• Tiles – sets of 20+ in good condition

We cannot accept aggregate or plasterboard at this time and may also decline some materials you would like to give.
