We’re joined by BB from Little Brown Fox for a workshop: Turning old tent fabric into tote bags.

Tents are fabulous things, they can turn a field into your home for the night and make family holidays affordable (as long as the weather holds out) but unfortunately once they get a rip or hole their life as a tent is generally over and they end up in landfill. The average tent weighs 3.5k and is mostly made of plastic, that’s the equivalent of 8,750 drinking straws. However tent fabric is lightweight, strong and waterproof so perfect for turning into reusable shopping bags!

Make Shed are holding a skills sharing workshop run by BB from Little Brown Fox, where she will help you transform old tent fabric into a versatile bag!

We have some sewing machines available but if you have your own we would greatly appreciate it if you could bring it with you. We also have a supply of tent fabric but if you have one at home that’s come to the end of its life please do bring it with you and we can turn it into something wonderful!

The workshop is running on Thursday 9th May from 7pm until 9pm (but you’ll probably have finished your bag before then) and is free. We do however only have limited space and sewing machines so booking is essential.

Accessibility:

Due to the age and design of the building, the Edventure Hub is impossible to access for wheeled users, and we apologise for this. The Edventure Hub is accessed via two short flights of stairs (around 12 steps in total with a turn). There is no lift available. There is no accessible toilet. Fire Exits in the building are stairs.

We are currently trying to sort bike lock-up racks at the Edventure Hub, so bike parking is limited to you locking up to the sturdy blue iron gate to the left as you arrive.

Please contact us to discuss access needs and we will do our best to help.
